At the University of Missouri Human Performance Institute, we strive to set the standard for performance in young athletes.

University of Missouri Health opened the MU Human Performance Institute in late 2015. The institute, formerly known as Columbia Speed Academy, is a comprehensive performance resource for young athletes, incorporating training and technology previously available only to professionals.

The institute offers a multidisciplinary approach to athletic training for young athletes and provides professional athletic workouts and training as well as the latest in medical evaluation technology. The institute also will eventually serve as as a research facility for new and ongoing studies, including research on concussion and its effects on young athletes and on connective tissue knee injuries in female athletes.
